HISTORY HIGHLIGHTS

2003 – The beginning, first Brixton Facility

2005 – The inaugural Engen KOC. Stars of Africa’s first Engen Cup Victory at the HPC Centre in Pretoria

2007 – The Academy team  makes the last 32 of the ABSA Cup

2008 – Sibusiso Khumalo is the first Stars of Africa Academy Graduate to turn professional signing for Moroka Swallows just before he turned 18

2008 – Coach Farouk become known by his nickname “precious” from his time on Extra Time with Robert Marawa

2008 – Sibusiso Khumalo is the first Stars of Africa Academy Graduate to represent South Africa at U20 level, at the U20 World Cup in Egypt

2011 – Stars of Africa Academy Graduate May Mahlangu wins the Swedish Premier League, the Swedish Premier League player of the year award, and is nominated for goal of the season

2009 – May Mahlangu becomes the first Stars of Africa Academy Graduate to sign professionally in Europe for Helsingborgs in the Swedish Premier League

2011 – Stars of Africa Academy Graduate, Tefu Mashamaite signs professionally for Kaizer Chiefs

2011 – Stars of Africa Academy Graduate, Tokelo Rantie signs professionally for Orlando Pirates

2012 – The Stars of Africa Academy team plays Bayhill Metropolitan Cup in Cape Town

2013 – TK sets up a Goal for May Mahlangu in the African Cup of Nations. These boys grew up in the academy together, now link up for Bafana Bafana to guide them to victory

2014 – Tokelo Rantie becomes the first Stars of Africa Academy Graduate to play in the English Premier League with Bournemouth

2015 – Stars of Africa Academy Graduate, Tefu Mashamaite wins the PSL Defender of the year as well as the PSL player of the year

2015 – Stars of Africa Academy Graduate, Tibang “Cafu” Phete signs for in the Portuguese Primera Division

2015 – Stars of Africa Academy Graduates Luther Singh and Pule Maraisane sign for GAIS in Sweden

2016 – Stars of Africa introduces Junior teams, to develop more grassroots talent

2015 – Stars of Africa Academy Graduate, Tshepo Matsemela AKA “Jomo” signs professionally for Polokwane City in the PSL

2017 – The Academy U12 team goes on to become League and Cup Champions

2017 – The Academy team goes on to win the Engen KOC Provincial and National Champs beating Sundowns and TUKS on their way to Glory

2017 – Patrick “Tito” Maswanganyi is called up to Amajita

2023 – Genino becomes the 7th Bafana Bafana International and joins the Stars of Africa Academies Elite

2024 – The Academy opens its 2nd home, The Atrium.

2023 – The Academy team with an average age of just 18, wins the coverted Under 21 Orlando Pirates Cup against Orbit College in the finals
